In memory of

Ayrton Senna

Three times Formula One world champion

Senna won three championships and forty-one races, and was held to be without equal in the wet and over a single qualifying lap. He gave much of his money quietly to children's charities in Brazil; the scale of it only became known after his death.

He was killed at Imola on 1 May 1994, the day after another driver had died on the same weekend. Brazil declared three days of mourning and a million people lined the roads in São Paulo. The safety changes that followed mean no Formula One driver died in a race for twenty years afterwards.
