Who made this, why it costs nothing, and what happens to what you write.
One person, no company
There is no company behind this site, no investors and no plan to sell it. It was built by one person who believes memory should be carried forward and that charging for it would be wrong.
Where the money comes from
Out of one pocket. The server costs a small amount each month and it is paid for privately. There is no donate button because a donation would make you a customer, and you are not one.
The only rules
Write what is true. Do not publish a page about a living person without their consent. Do not use someone's memory to sell, campaign or attack. Anything cruel, false or commercial is taken down.
Getting in touch
Write to us if a page needs correcting, if something is wrong with your own, or if you need help making one.
The contact address is shown to people who are signed in. That keeps it out of reach of the machines that harvest addresses from open pages.
